From the capability of SAT-OCEAN to deliver hindcast ocean current reports over any region, we provide ocean surveys around the world dedicated to the assessment of energy production potential using the ocean currents and hydrokinetic devices.
We deliver detailed reports down to 1/64th of a degree resolution. Our ability to provide reports that show the "big picture" (through maps and animations) of the presence of strong and steady horizontal currents over any time frame gives our customers the capability of forecasting potential business earnings in the future, and also provides engineering requirements ranging from site locations to worst case scenario events. In addition, pointwise statistical results are provided at any point of interest. Points of major interest can be selected from an optimization procedure that seeks the best locations in terms of current strength, steadiness, distance to coast, bathymetry, and any other constraint required.
