"We have released a new current forecast and hindcast deliverable where our system grid resolution is now 1/64th of a degree (about 1.7km) spatially with a 1-hour time step. Such very high resolution current computation areas are nested in SAT-OCEAN ongoing global 1/8th of a degree run. The primary motivation is to have a better representation of islands shadow areas off Sarawak, North Brazil, offshore Mozambique and Tanzania etc. The SAT-OCEAN 1/64th datasets are now being delivered to our clients for drilling or offshore renewable energy related purposes."

Up to now, SAT-OCEAN was providing its current and wind data (forecast & historical) in NetCdf and Grib formats (compliant with OSCAR & OILMAP). We have developed and validated with SINTEF the necessary procedures to now provide our clients with native HYD and GWD formatted current and wind data."
